Carrying on Jim's Legacy: Our Mission

Jim left us unexpectedly on December 4, 2018. He was born with a heart condition called Wolff Parkinson White, which causes abnormally fast heart rates for periods of time. He was treated til age 6 and cleared with a clean bill of health for decades. His childhood passion was running and swimming, which led him to run x-country at University of Illinois Chicago & a 3:20 finish at the Chicago Marathon.  He stunned the medical community with his unexpected passing of sudden cardiac arrest, due to WPW.

The Jim Janak Foundation was created to honor Jim's memory. Through donations and community service, we aim to positively influence the communities we live in by partnering with local charities in need, spread awareness about heart health and ultimately save lives. The chosen charity will be highlighted on this site & in newsletters so you understand your personal impact.
